Hpi Check's

Are the ones you text the car reg to any good?

Any help appreciated :)

The text ones are brilliant, worth doing even before you go to look at a car. If it's been written off or stolen you will waste more than £3 of your time going to look at it. The text check prevented me from buying a written off fiesta which hadn't had the repair approved and shouldn't have been on the road, you would never know from looking sometimes:thumbsup:

Sold a car about 2 years ago which we'd had from new, HPI'd properly, not one of the text checks it to sell as an HPI clear car and they cam back with he wrong colour - said it was bright yellow when infact it was black, they wouldn't change it and i actualy lost the first sale because it wasnt HPI clear... so personally take HPI's as a bonus not as gospel :bored: and perhaps the text ones a level further down...

Cheers guys, i did an online one, it turned out it had previously been a Cat C, so it saved me a few quid, only cost 3.95 as well. :)

id say to stay clear of these cheap hpi checkers etc. A mate brought a bike having got the all clear, when it whent for an mot it came up as a write off and was meant to have been scrapped.

heard of a few other horror storys too

Plus the cheaper checks don't often check for any outstanding finance on the cars, just the other basics.
