Races Filmed on Championship Night !!!

A wee problem with the Movie files taken on Friday night There seems to data corruption on my Compact Flash Disk.

I have managed to recover 3 so far: 2nd C Final, B Final & A Final.

Will contact Snadisk support Moday, but if anyone has any experience in corrupt data recovery, please please post on here A.S.A.P.

The files are .MOV's about 1.65GB each and shot on a Sandisk Extreme III 30MB/s 32GB Compact Flash Card.

I'm trying to use Rescue Pro Deluxe 4, but this will cost $60 :(

I'm really upset by this, but will try to work it out by next week.

Lucas, please don't go spending money to solve the problem. I'm sure we'll have some great video in the weeks to come. Not used these disks myself before, but does it need to be formatted correctly to the camera before using. We can experiment a little and once we've cracked it then we can post some videos.

The file size is not an issue as I can take the files from disc and edit down to a manageable size which I'll post via YouTube and then link through to our site. It saves on the band-width and others might see the videos and come along to our races :)

All good PR.

Hi Scott,

The real issue is I'm worried about weather the card is damaged or the camera is creating damaged .MOV files......

by the way can you convert .MOV's to AVI's and WMV etc....

bedsrcmcc 12-09-2009 11:48 AM

Yep I can handle MOVs. I can convert any format to another format :)

I think my CF card is a dud...... now I have to return it to Sandisk, hoepfully I get a replacement by Friday otherwise I might not be able to film them all. By the way 3 races that did film are looking fine.

The first videos have now been added to our main web site here:

http://www.bedsrcmcc.co.uk/video.php

Hopefully once Lucas has sorted his damaged card we'll have even more added so we can watch back the final legs to see how good , or not  as the case maybe, that we drove on the night

It's looking like I'll only get the replacement card around Monday 28th Sept :(

No worries Lucas. The videos look good now I've added them to the site. Can I request in future that when you create the files you save them as the following:

MPEG-2
640 x 480px

That should keep the file size down for me to upload to You Tube as I had to convert those WMV files you burnt on the DVD, thanks.

Chris, please may you bring your video camera as I still haven't got my compact flash cards back. Cheers lucas :)
