Stampede VXLBoy (again)

Guys - its nothing to be proud of here. I know he can be hard to understand, and the constant PM's are a bit much but really, honestly, you ought to be ashamed of the way you've acted.
That last thread consisted of people jumping down his throat since reply 1, twisting his admittedly badly worded replies and just goading him on until he snapped, then a moderator quotes his angered responses and closes the thread. Not on, not one bit.

I'm left with a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth when it comes to Oople tonight. I realise that lots of us know each other etc, and because of that we take the piss but the fact is at least we do know each other. And we know they are joking. Not everyone does.

Put it this way - if tomorrow morning I see my pupils acting like some of you have done on here tonight, picking on the weak, socially awkward kid, they can be expecting some serious repercussions. Which is how it should be.

Time to grow up a little guys......

i totaly agree with you i can agree that a little mild piss take is ok but some of this what can only be called cyber bullying is well out of order not just because it hurts him but also it can be seen by any person who looks on the internet so it is proberly driving away new people to the hoby and is allmost certanly driving people away from oople and its not on.

sorry about all the misspellings but i am in a rage at all this

NeilD 06-09-2009 10:31 PM

Si, you make some very valid points however how many times has he been offered help and advice only to go totally random or off topic. I agree with you that as most of us don't know him the banter may have gone too far but he is an adult and could've saved himself a lot of grief by simply keeping quiet. A fresh start is needed by VXL and all oOples members. He should read all his previous posts and the replies and take on board the advice given and not focus on the negativity.

You have a right to have opinion and YES some digging and picking does take place but as i told him via PM i closed it to stop anymore crap been posted for his and others sakes, it was my chioce to close the thread and i stand by it i just hope THIS one doesnt go the same way with a slanging match.

Nice attitude Si. Without wishing to sound patronising in any way, the trouble is this site isnt a drop in centre.

Its a case of biting the hand that feeds you - nothing less.

Its an open public forum not an institution. People can expect replies from Liberals and non Liberals alike.

Slagging off clubs, members, admins and ignoring advice from people who are more educated than yourself isnt going to gain you popularity.

I`ll stay out of any more of his threasds, i just get fed up of continually reading complete tripe and Pm`s

Garry Driffill 06-09-2009 10:36 PM

I agree, Yes we could have eased off. But Neil is right here, Many o' times have people tried to help him and offer advice but it just seems to go over his head?

http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29107

Here is a wanted thread from a while ago, countless offers popped up read up. - 8 offers? - I seriously doubt any of them was taken up - waste of time.

Quite true Neil, and I've had to empty my PM box a few times due to constant gearing questions I thought I'd answered. But then maybe because its my job to teach the awkward, I've always figured I'm stronger and have the patience to repeat, slowly, until it sinks in. Maybe those without that depth of patience shouldn't be getting involved?

stox217 06-09-2009 10:37 PM

But come on 700 odd posts since april?
And i did not like his way of Pming the guy from germany! thats rude!
I would not sit back and take that.
Anyways id say lay off stampede VXL boy you never know what medical coditions he migh thave or whats going on in his life or if he drinks we dont know so lay off him for a bit and try to be nice

I'm a youth support worker mate, i work with crisis teenagers, and to be brutally honest a 15 year old off his head on coke makes more sense than this guy.To help people they have to want help. I'll follow the lead of RichD is stay out of his threads.

I don't disagree with closing the thread, but deleting would better. And this thread too for that matter - whatever its outcome. Its a reminder of an uglier side to Oople we would all be best off forgetting!

ashleyb4 06-09-2009 10:49 PM

May i make a suggestion of ignoring him. Annoying children soon get bored when you ignore them.

thread = bollox, you all agree to terms and conditions on joining this forum, you revoke your freedom of speech.

All need a reality check here, this is not real life here. We all get fed up with threads, and want to put, try use the search function, numpty, or, we just don't need to click on the 'post reply'
