Chassis, X - 6 Squared, plastic

A retailler in france annonce a new chassis in plastic for X6².

Did you have do some test. What differant betwenn the graphit.
Because i see nothink

The French dealer has been very quick to announce this then, the "official" release is later today...........:thumbdown:

Plastic chassis would be same design as the standard one I'd guess, it'd just be more flexible than the composite kit chassis...

Would give a different feel to the car, my guess would be more forgiving/smoother on rougher surfaces? I'm sure one of the X-factory guys would have a better and more detailed answer to that though.

Sounds interesting, but my timing could be better...as I've just ordered a new chassis this morning (thanks to a pretty brutal crash on Friday eve that took the front clean off :woot::(), might have opted for that instead of the standard one to try it out!

Just hope the new one arrives in time for Kiddy this weeekend...hopefully DMS have that in hand, they usually do :thumbsup:

Will the us guys be using this aswell or is aimed mainly high grip tracks? As i thought brian developed the tranny brace as he wanted to further stiffen the graphite chassis?

As said it just makes the car a little more forgiving with the extra flex.

We all had them on for Blyth (no E) and we also all ran them at the euro's with good results :)

A lot of it is personal feel, Brian likes a really stiff chassis (but most of us UK ot don't run the brace), which to be fair is faster if you have the time to set it up as they are not so forgiving. For us over here with all our bumps and limited practice time at most meetings it is much better.

with the new plastic chassis are you guys runnig the car at the same weight?

Most members of the X Factory Dealer Family have #1006 in stock now, or they have been shipped already. This is particularly true in Japan and U.K. where we have active distributors Team AJ and D.M.S. Many of our direct retailers in other countries have ordered them and been shipped.

Therefore, if a store near you stocks X Factory, that's by far the fastest way to get the new chassis.

is there any chance of ordering a x6 squared kit, but with the plastic chassis?

the plastic chassis B4's seem to handle better, and buying another chassis on top of the conversion just seems too much!

From the way i understand it the kits will still come with the Graphite chassis, and the plastic version is an 'option' it is not a necessity. Ellis has even said himself the graphite chassis is probably quicker if you nail the setup.

I think that people have to remember that the key word is 'option'.

Personally its great to have a choice, i would rather have a choice than be stuck with one item. I'm sure a lot of people are very happy with their current Graphite x6 squared and would never have thought about changing the chassis until this news was announced ;)
