Nice, just make sure you have cooling holes in the bodyshell. I'd open up:
  • Where the steering rack is, don't bother with the fancy cut-out and widen the gaps further (either side of your 'Mugen Seiki' sticker).
  • Drill some holes in the roof, about an inch in front of the ESC. About 4 or 5 would do, body-post hole size.
  • Drill 1 large hole (as large as the reamer will go) in each side at the back of the bodyshell for the hot air to exit again.

Thanks for the advise Marvin, doesnt run hot you thinks it realy needed?

To quote an annoying set of adverts: 'Every little helps...'

Things can really heat up on the track, if you've only given it a run in the street/park etc and haven't raced it yet, you'll find that the temperatures get much higher when racing.

Will give it a try at Clanfield Saturday practising see how hot she gets. Can always add holes there see how many I need :) will remember to pack the reamer hehe

That's it really, 'see how it goes', no-one likes to drill a load of holes in a new shell. I'd still be tempted to open the front and rear of the shell a little for some cooling.

nice!! what kv is motor?

Marvin 02-09-2009 09:59 AM

I'd guess it's a 36-60-2000 Medusa, so 2000kV.

Lambchops:

Where did you get your batteries, ESC and motor?

They look strangely familiar to me. As does the soldering job on the battery.

Any update? I just got a MBX5 and thinking about doing the same thing.

lambchops 23-09-2009 12:27 PM

yep its all done, runs like a dream!! Its just so easy to use no messing around with fuel and starter boxes. I love it!! Did my first race in the electric class at clanfield on sunday and went very well. I would recommend the conversion!!
