Hi Steve
You can get hold of them at [email protected] It's urethane based so I am not sure what the fumes will be like :eh?: - would be interested to know how you get on with it if you do try it |
From what I understand, it works very well, I am trying an affect that Faskolor can't do, so it is either use pactra (which is getting harder to find) or go for something more available.
I shall email them a little later. |
What is it you are trying to do Steve ?
|
water droplet effect, which actualy means using water droplets on the shell, hence not being able to use Faskolor.
I might give pactra a go, if it works, then I might get HOK. |
Aha I see
Yup that's not gonna work with FK is it :D |
Whats it do ? If you blow paint at some water, it's surely gonna move?
|
nah, you use low pressure and a very VERY shallow spray angle, and the paint sticks to the one side of the water droplets meniscus, then you turn it round, and spray another colour, you then dry the paint with a light source or non blowing heater, then spray as normal.
|
crazy madness!
|
yes indeedy
|
ooh... that's clever...
we will try this... yes we will... probably be a disaster knowing me though... best try it on one of my own shells, not someone elses! |
I am currently using ANY scrap peice of lexan, lol.
|
trying it with some spazstix, but that stuff seems to use loads just to cover.... will try some pactra this evening me thinks....
|
what you do is get a spray mister fill it with water, turn the shell or body upside down and spray water up into the air over the top of the shell,it then falls on the shell make sure you spray enough to form nice sizec water beads(say 2-4mm)then while the water is still wet you spray a dark colour from one side and stright after a lighter colour at the other, ether let it dry naturaly or dyr slowly as not to move the water around when the water invapourates it gives you a awsome water bead effect, like this
|
ooooooh
