RC'ers/oOples go MTB?

anyone interested in a day out somewhere to ride MTB?

jimmy 21-08-2009 10:13 AM

Might be a bit of a long way for me to trek but I've not ridden for ummm, years, I need to tho. oop, just looked at my avatar - won't be any of that going on, I'll snap in half now!

Chris Doughty 21-08-2009 10:16 AM

I think it should be clear that its more of an idea for a get together to ride and enjoy riding, not a test of skill...

all levels welcome :D

BagofSkill 21-08-2009 10:18 AM

I'd be interested, depending on distance..........

cjm_2008 21-08-2009 10:29 AM

I think some ooplers might take offence to the suggestion that they need excercise

I bought a pretty pricey MTB in july, as a more interesting alternative to the gym. I managed to get 2 proper rides in on it before breaking a rib whilst karting

I've got some of the best trails in europe practically on my doorstep, so once that pesky rib is healed....

chicksands is much better for a MTB :D

What sort of bikes do everyone have?
ive just got a GT Jump Bike.

jimmy 21-08-2009 10:59 AM

I have a 1996 kona kula - bit knackered but hey.

Charlie Ware 21-08-2009 11:09 AM

is that an XC bike?
then woburn would be much better, more cross country routes :)

jono83 21-08-2009 11:11 AM

i have a santa cruz super 8 that i used to race. its good at going down hill but not very good at going up lol

Chris Doughty 21-08-2009 11:12 AM

I'm rocking a specialized rockhopper FSR from 2000, its a general XC bike

jimmy 21-08-2009 11:14 AM

It's a santacruz super8 in my avatar piccie. Yeah the kona is a XC machine really - had it a loooooooooooong time

Lee 21-08-2009 11:18 AM

GRIFF55 21-08-2009 11:19 AM

Glorykid 21-08-2009 11:19 AM

2007 Iron Horse Yakuza freeride bike...defo not a xc bunny

Si Coe 21-08-2009 11:55 AM

I have a Klein Palamino gathering dust in my garage alongside the slightly more used but less fancy Marin Muirwoods. Really should ride more, but I only really get Sundays to do stuff like that, and what do you know, I race toy cars instead!

Sadly I've recently sold the cool DH/Freeride stuff cos I'm just not going to the Alps like I used to. Had a Marin Quake and a Scott Nitrous. Awesome over there, but too much like hard work anywhere without a ski lift.

kwik 21-08-2009 12:34 PM

my bike doesnt have brakes, so downhilling would be erm... scary for me lol ... besides its a cross country bike sort of thing, no suspension but offroad wheels....
