McArdle Sport Tec Ltd are a construction company working throughout the UK on the construction of Astroturf sports fields. The recent trend of our work has been on the replacement of existing fields. This type of work involves the removal of the existing carpet which apart from the high wear areas, goals and the central area is in a fair condition. We price our work for this material to go to landfill but are happy for local clubs and individuals to collect from our sites free of charge.
The carpet is a sand filled carpet and we take it up and roll in sections 2m by 15m. During a normal year with have a total of around 25000m2 at five locations in the UK.

If your club can do with some Astroturf please contact John Kirkham [email protected]

We had some from them last year for Oswestry. It came from a Roman Catholic Girls school :)

The guy named on this thread called me a few weeks ago to said they were doing a job down south and had some more going spare, but we just dont need any more.

Our experience was that you need to collect the stuff and FAST, we had 48 hours notice which meant getting a 40' trailer to go pick it up. It was also VERY heavy. even after cutting 3mx3m sections it took 8 people to lift those sections using lorry straps..
