Without actually buying a whole new kit, where can I get a Baldre body from?

DCM 13-08-2009 09:36 AM

Well, I am working on Kamtec to get a Brushless friendly body, otherwise, try www.fusionhobbies.com

Rozzy 13-08-2009 10:16 AM

what about 501x body or non tamiya bodies

T4miy4 Guy 13-08-2009 03:05 PM

The 501x body is too narrow!

Either use Kamtec for a shell only

Or use ebay for body kit 51338

Example
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tamiya-51338-D...3286.m63.l1177

I have just purchased one and it comes with..

Bodyshell
Spoiler (rear wing)
Stickers
velcro for sides 2xstrips
bodyclips
Instructions

Bargain TBF!

Yea, the Baldre body from HK is proper cheap for what you get :woot:

I got a Baldre body set from rcmart today, looks better in my opinion than the Durga, and seems to have more room in it.

Will be interested in the brushless friendly shell, need plenty of room above the motor for connectors, wires, speedo fan etc.

Uhm...no, I have Durga shell on my DB01 and I have no problem fitting Brushless underneath. At all. The only thing that Baldre have an advantage of over Durga is slightly better cooling flow.

You can browse my posts to see how mine was setup.

Oh! My Durga shell doesn't fit down flat with a Sphere+fan+3.5mm connectors on the motor. I'd get a bit more room if I soldered directly to motor, but I think the body would sit on top of the fan.

I'm hoping a Baldre shell will fit better, yet to paint it...

Are you referring to the fan on your ESC or a fan attached to your motor via a heatsink?

You are correct that the Durga body will not seat correctly if you have a fan/heatsink combo on your 'motor', but it should fit perfectly fine if you have a standard motor and ESC /fan.

Tamiya made the carbon reinforced tub with the heatsink plate to accomodate those that wanted extra cooling without adding any bulk to your motor.

simoncrabb 20-08-2009 09:53 PM

Ahh, yes, I've got a heatsink and fan on the motor, the fan behind the motor in front of speedo. And a fan on the speedo.

I'm a fan fan!

I'll see how the baldre shell fits, I'll paint it up soon, doing it the same time as another one for the RB5.
