B max4 2009

Does anyone out there know the differances between the Bmax cp @ the new 2009 edition other than the alloy bits?
I read a while back that it had lower suspension brackets and other small changes, but as I start to build the new one, I can't see what these changes are?
Can any of you die hard Yokomo fans inform me?
Either way, still think it's the best 4wd buggy out there!

Web link for the correct B-MAX4 '09. It has a number of alloy parts, most notably the centre drivetrain mounts and the suspension mounts.

Some people have been saying that these are in the UK. I think not, I think the UK has only re-stocked on the original Champions Pack bundle.

Bmax 2009

Hmm I'm not so sure Sosige.
I've got the origional Bmax cp & just bought this new 2009 edition.
It comes with additional instructions & a numbered certificate all in Japanese, looks the real deal to me. Just can't see the difference in the so called lowered suspension blocks

What have you guys ended up doing to run Lipo's in the Bmax?

I used Bx straps/posts when I ran it, but always assumed they were not in great supply?

Does the original bmax have an aluminum front brace?

The 09 does.

I use diggity lipo cradle made for the b44.
They come with extra long posts so you can fit 6000 lipos without the washer post mod.

Sorry, seems I was wrong about UK availability, just noticed that it is now listed on CML's website.

As far as the geometry goes, at risk of speaking out of turn again, I don't think the geometry is any different, it just uses alloy and upgraded versions of the standard kit parts. This is what I can tell from the parts list.

I'd be interested to know if the machined alloy motor mount and top cover solve the bearing-crushing problem.

Used the B44 ali posts, carbon straps and thumb screws works a treat.... also filled the gaps with lead..

09 kit price £330-340ish

No surprise there lad

Im considering getting a new one due to the centre section being sorted out with alloy this time

I did notice in some photo's from the euro's report that phillips screws weren't being used... new screw kit coming out perhaps or just something sorted by the driver.

Hi Guys,

The bmax4 '09 edition is the same as a bmax4 Champ pack car except there are a lot more stronger (and slightly lighter) blue aluminium pieces. With all the blue parts fitted, my car weighs about 15-20g less, not a great deal, but they look cool! Parts include: hub carriers, front brace, steering brace, toe-in brace/suspension mounts, motor mount and gear cover...

The new blue rear hub carriers as in the '09 car now have a vertical ballstud, they come supplied with 2 washers (I think they are both 1mm thick but not entirely certain) so that you can return the ball stud to the same height as with the standard plastic hub carriers, but of course you now have the option to raise or lower the ball stud to alter roll centres. (this may be what you have heard in terms of lower sus. mounts?)

The big bore shocks are not supplied in the '09 car and it is not planned for them to be, they will be an option aftermarket item, at least that is the plan for now according to the Yokomo guys (Robert and Hosoda) present in Bilbao. I don't know precisely when they will be availble here in the UK but I understand they are about to, or have just gone on sale in Asia, so hopefully not too long- they are a really good idea and they work very well, anyone who wants to see any can come over to me at Blythe national this weekend if they like.

Tom

PS: Screws used on my car are a Yokomo titanium kit, made for one of the Yokomo TC's. Unfortunately I have thrown away the header card off them so don't know the part no. sorry :(
