VIDEO - My Xpro tonight at CML Raceway

Just to point out - this car is setup EXACTLY as per the manual, kit shock oil, positions, camber links - everything!

Running Proline M3 Ribs and Bowtie rears, Novak 6.5 B/L and Reedy Lipo.

I tried backing the slipper off but it's a wheelie machine, needs some weight in the front and a bigger pinion but i was really impressed with how it went straight out of the box! (No broken T-piece either).....

Thanks to Trish it's certainly better then it was, at least the track is useable - The Grass will only take a couple of hours to get through so it's no big deal

Yeah i was pleased with the car to be honest, considering it's not had any set-up change whatsoever i can't complain really.

Nope, nothing like that yet - The car is literally as per the box it came in, nothing modified or changed at all yet.

Darren Boyle 29-07-2009 11:10 AM

Lee, Get up earlier you lazy toad......... LOL :p

(I know what you mean by busy at the moment though....)

Change the o-rings, I found that the kit ones made the shocks feel realy stiff in action, the Whitties allowed the oil and piston to do it's thing, also, drilled out the rear pistons to 1.4mm to reduce the pack.

Yeah i think i'll run it as is first just to get a feel for the car - main thing for me is getting the weights added as you could tell is was really under-weight.

Also need to play around with gearing / slipper as it was wheelie central all over the place, obviously the lack of weight doesn't help but once i get that side of things right i'll start playing with set-ups :-)

DCM 29-07-2009 02:40 PM

I think I got 40g on the servo, and about the same stashed in the rear, the slipper isn't helped by such a big nut either, so the adjustment is a bit agricultural.

Are you running Lipo's in yours? I was thinking of a bit more weight that's all....

Will have to look at the slipper as i backed it off a lot but it didn't seem to make that much difference really....... May have to look at the B4 set-up and see if there's a way to convert it - the standard Spur wasn't very true anyway so i wouldn't mind changing.

DCM 29-07-2009 05:07 PM

you would have to ream the plates out a little, but should be too hard, I have used an old wheel nut, as it has less fridtion, so easier to adjust. Might look into the DB-01 slipper unit.

Yes, LiPo, and a light one at that, I am waiting for the brass trays.

I've also used a standard nyloc nut that's shorter than the supplied one which has a kind of washer built onto it. I also filed 2mm or so off the slipper hub face that the spring contacts against.
