Re-using ZX-5 Rims

Hi

i usually do the boiling tires in water method to remove the tires. dont like ussing accetone.

anyone know if boiling the tires, the zx-5 rims will warp?

I confess I have never managed to boil a tyre off- for me it just doesn't work. Acetone forever!

use acetone works fine.

did boiling today... after about 45minutes, it pretty much peeled straight off. rims dont warp.

with your acetone, how long u leave them in there for?

should ease off after 24 hours if submerged fully. depends how much glue was on there. better to leave for 48+ hours if poss. and if there is some residue left on the rims once you have taken the tyres off then just put the wheels back in by themselves for a few hours.

You coul also try baking them in the oven, be warned though, it can smell pretty much after doing it :D
110-125 C is enough, for about 15 minutes.

Removing Tyres

The quickest & easiest method has to be the oven method. See my step-by-step insturctions here:
