New Stinger EB-1 Electric Buggy?

Anyone seen these? Look like another good way to get people into the sport, rather Fugly though - Looks REALLY tall.

Yeah, saw it in the CML advert in one of the mags a few weeks ago, you're absolutely right, it IS a pig ugly thing and I know that shouldn't matter but I think it probably will. It makes the Ansmann Madrat look like a thing of pure beauty. And it does look silly tall which then makes it appear even more toy-like.

Looks like a X-6's retarded cousin:cry:

definitely got hit with the fugly stick. But as Nick says, if it's cheap and strong it is good for the hobby.

Well they claim it's a funky pre-printed bodyshell, perhaps they just mispelt Fugly!
It's interesting to see a few new cheaper RTR entering the market, hopefully it will get more people interested in the hobby

I think, RTR's that have a racing brother are good for the hobby, RTR's that are just that, do nothing for the hobby, as they are bought, taken to the club, and realise that they got to go out and buy all new stuff again.

As for that car, it's deseing, in circa TRX1 mid 90's lol

Ok, I get that the Madrat has an advantage that you can piece by piece turn it into an X-Pro, but its an expensive way of doing things and fools no-one once they cost it up.
The thing is, both of these should be perfectly competitive in the E-final (you know, the race won by the person who needs marshalling the least) even against B4's so its a good enough place to start.
And thats what really matters. I remember the old Schumacher Club 10 (the original Cougar rehashed when new versions came out) was a great first race car. By then it had no top end brother, and was out of place in the A-final but was simple, durable and fast enough to hang with the big boys even if it can't beat them. Thats what I see with the Madrat and Stinger.

no, what I mean is, with the B4RTR you got the FT etc, Mad Rat you got the X-Pro, with the Club 10 you had the Cougar 2, 2 Team. It is all about a path of upgradeability. Very few will move up from a 'buget RTR' as, when they just spent £120 on the RTR, then another £25 on wheels and tyres, only to fin out that not just the motor, but the ESC, servo and the Car are uncompetitive, they think twice.

I suppose it depends on the price too.
