Which Cat SX
SX LIPO or S1 as I'm looking at getting a Cat
|
i think its just down to if you want carbon fibre or not, to build or not to build, racing for fun at club level or serious events.
me personally would go for the S1 as i only race club level and the odd regional when not rained off lol :) Dave |
the S1 is cheaper and is slightly more forgiving due to more flex in the chassis. Both cars are capable of the same performance so it basically comes down to whether you enjoy building the car from scratch or whether you'd rather save some cash.

Is there a difference between the 2008 & 2009 models?
Can you get the S1 unassembled? Tempted to get the Cat SX LIPO unassembled new if there are differences |
as far as i know the s1 is assembled only, not in kit form. as is the phil booth edition

Other option I'm thinking is an S1 and get the one way diff

I can recommend the S1. I've just bought one and stuck in the front one way, used Matt White's set up and ran the car at Bury last Sunday. It was quicker straight away than my X5. One tip though. Take the car apart and rebuild it yourself. The standard of the Schumacher build is rubbish, as the components i hadn't touched when changing the set up fell apart. I only finished one race with a 5th in round. Its now rebuilt with loctite ready for the Regional.

Going for a Phil Booth Cat SX LIPO in the end :)
I'd like to build the car, but got a good deal |
