horizon hobby

i heard horizon had a damaged batch of brushless stuff come to them not long ago. Anyone know when they will be dispatching out the replacement brushless systems? if i'm right, i've been without my losi brushless for near on 3 months now.

HELP.

Carole_MH 05-07-2009 09:20 PM

Ive been without mine 2 months and according to what I was told when i rang earlier this week they said they should be in by now, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Tom3012 05-07-2009 10:06 PM

my friend got a dodgey one and sent it back to horizon.. pushing 10 weeks and still hasnt had a replacement... although he was supposed to get it last week... but they have said that for about 3 weeks, wont even refund him because "it will be with you this tuesday" that was last week... :eh?:

Get hold of the Credit Card company etc for refunds?

What about sales of goods act?

Dave Dodd 06-07-2009 09:06 AM

hi all

i think they should they were getting stock deliveries late last week or this week, so they should be dispatching them soon.
just give them a tinkle as a reminder ( a boot up the ass lol )

Depends where the priority is. Getting stock out for NEW sales or sorting out the existing customer base...

PRIORITY

THEY HAD MY MONEY A WHILE BACK SO THEY BETTER SEND ME NEW BRUSHLESS..IF THE SPEEDO WAS SO PROAN TO FAULTS, WHY SELL IT?

IF WE TRY TO SELL SPEEDOS LIKE THAT, WE'D SOON BE SHUT DOWN FOR IT.

Guys, althoough I am in no way connected Horizon, you do need to get "some" of the facts straight.

1. All units that were in stock "for sale" (ie on the shelf to be sold), were in fact removed and have been used to deal with warranty and service issues. NO sales have been made ahead of service issues I am 100% certian of. ;)

2. "Most" of the units returned to Horizon (I stress most and not all) are ones that have been screwed up by incorrect software updates etc, we had 10 units oursleves with Horizon to be "looked at" and 8 of them were software install issues - it is not ALWAYS the fault of the product but somtimes the user too.... :eh?:

3. Refunds cannot be given by the distributor, each customer would need to go "back" through the shop where it was purchased, who can deal with exchange/refund or replacment, Horizon is NOT the point of sale. We have had all but two of our repairs back now and retuned them to "our" customers, but the "shop who SOLD each unit" cannot be expected to step in to sort it out if the customer has returned the unit directly to Horizon. We oursleves had 4 customers choose to return their units direct to Horizon to "miss us out" thinking it was quicker, then expected us to step in when Horizon didnt give the answers they wanted or in the time scale they were after, if you choose to go direct, you have to wait for Horizon to deal with it or alternativley go back through the shop it came from for the best and quickest service (IMHO)

4. Migsy is spot on correct, they did recieve a "damaged" consignemnt which rendered the good inside useless a week or two back, as frustrating as this is for everyone (Horizon, shops and customers all included) there is nothing in their control that they could do about it, a new batch is currently on its way to them if it has not already arrived which we are assured is being given priority to units for service department first before sales

Hope that helps.......

Gulp, is it that easy to put the wrong software in??

And if you do it's your own cost to replace???

If so can someone point me in the direction of the correct excelorin "S" software, I have 2 on the way and don't want to break them!!

Its not "easy" to get wrong, but then the software is not the most "easy" to operate either. A mix of both the user and software being poor can lead to trouble.

Its not your own cost to repair, Horizon have and will exchange any units that develop a problem, only trouble is they have had no exchange units for some time which has led to lengthy waits for some poeple.

If you have "just" purchased your two units and they are new and from a reputable source, then they will already have the very latest software installed on them, you wont have a need to do anything.

Dave if you need any help come and see me, I have been running the xcelorin speedo's for over a year now without any issues.

I also have the latest firmware updates as well.
