anyone know or have some Pc software for a small type business , which will enable me to invoice and stock control also ?

check out www.openoffice.org may be useful. any good spreadsheet is good for invoicing and stock control if you spend a bit of time setting it up as you need it

sage is the best i have used

we use sage its very expensive and the training courses are so boring.

A good microsoft access database with the correct forms and queries etc can work well.

Sage is the best but if you are operating at below sage type levels go with Excel, its so much more than just a calculator.
It takes a good while to get your head into it but the key is "z lookups" which will cross refernce between workbooks and allow the completion of invoice details such as desc, price and customer details just with the relevant account number or part no...
