schumacher Cat sx battery?????
Hi there
Thinking of some different lipos. Can i run the hump/ridged lipos or do they have to be flat like Trakpower. What lipos would you guys recommed?????? (thinking or the Intellent lipo):D Cheers Chris |

cells with lugs on will be a real squeeze under the belt, unless you get the new stiff chassis that has locating slots for the lugs.
any of the brca legal stick packs with a flat bottom should fit fine. which one you get depends on your budget and how much punch you want. |
Avoid the lipos with the humps, it causes a headache, unless you have the new stiffer chassis.
I have the intelect, and I wish I had bought something else. I have to run them upside down and thus have strange wiring. |

I run the Vampire racing Lipo's which have location bumps on using the NiMh CAT SX chassis. All I had to do was to dremel a small part out at the front to allow the front locator to locate. You do need the Lipo servo mounts, Lipo belt roller and lipo battery strap to do this to a NiMh CAT.

I'm probably going to get a Core RC 5000 LIPo for the Cat and Trakpower for the XXCR. The Trakpower's aren't as tights as I'd like due to only being 3600s

The CORE is "up with the best" on price (£85 RRP) but at 25C (the 35C ones are not on the BRCA list) there are far better option's around in my opinion, Not just Vampire (but they are one of the ones I am thinking about of course) but the likes of LRP and Reedy too.
The "lumps" are not that much grief that a swift evenings modification will solve and then you will be able to use a "better" product as result of your work. Same thing with the 3600's in your 2wd, similiar money can get you 4000+'s at 35C that would just drop striaght in without fuss (due to their lower height than higher capacity ones) |
I know alot of people at my club who run the Intellect lipos 5000mah 30c from Hong kong on Ebay, they are only 48 pound with postge :D BARGAIN
Only problem is they have humps for the chassis locaters Can these be filed down with a Dremel????? :eh?: |
The Trakpower 3600 LIPOs were a bargin buy, but appreciate they may not be the best. They do however fit will in the Losi XXCR due to their size and hopefully I'll be able to get some lead underneath them.
As for dremeling parts of the Cat SX or LIPOs, I'm not a fan of that. I dremelled the servo for the XX, but that's it. |

we had the problem were we couldn't get the cells in because of there humps underneath, and they touched the belts and pulleys,so we have made holes in the chassis for them to drop in, this has made the chassis a bit More flexible which has helped handling and made the car easier to drive on high grip tracks,15mins with a dremmel no skill involved lol:D

Dont EVER dremel the LIPO itself, it is both dangerous (potentially) and will render them illegal.
That said, filling a little away from a chassis is neither too much of a hardship or big deal really to make somthing fit easier. |
no sorry if i didn't make it completely clear, i dremmeled are chassis not the cells, as Darren said not a good idea to go any were near a lipo with a dremmel,

Just got to get the wiring right. The wiring on the outside means less wires towards the belts.
