Ansmann makes(sorry markets) a copy of the B4 & T4

It's called "X Pro"=B4 & "XT Pro"=T4

If you get high res picture, you'll see it's amazing (& the front Bulkhead is from my RB5!! Can't believe it)

Surprised AE isn't yet in court

you're slightly late with this thread? the Ansmann thread has been going for ages discussing this!

chb 17-06-2009 09:55 PM

"Nick, will post pics up a little later, when I got the RB5, sorry, I mean, Pro-X front end together!!"

Yes, indeed (sorry just noticed the thread). I am surprised it hasn't made more noise! It's just incredible

why knock it?joe public seems to like and sales are doing quite well after only 2 weeks on market.dont see anyone knocking other [manufacturers]that actually use whole parts of other cars.at least ansmann parts seem to be their own, albeit it maybe copied/modified.give them a chance.theyve got some balls jumping in the deep end of 2wd drive competition buggies.credit where credits die.ta jez.

right, lets get few things straight, unless your looking at a mid motor conversion, none of the cars are únique'in any way, shape or form. Ansmann market the car, under their own banner, but it is made by a Hong Kong R/C company.

Secondly, if Ansmann can sell this at an RRP of 140, and the quality is nearly as good B-Max4.... A comapny comes along, and is offering a car, that is competitive, for a price that you just can't knock? I see no problem with that, at all.

stox217 17-06-2009 10:37 PM

And to market a buggy for under £50 note's that include's a 540sh motor and shell its dam good!

chb 17-06-2009 10:56 PM

Jez & DCM,

Don't get me wrong... I am RC consumer, and I clearly see a benefit in this.

Where you stand on this really depends on who you are: an ansmann employee, a chinese employee of that Hong Kong RC comp, a consumer... or a designer making a living of designing these AE & Kyosho cars

DCM 18-06-2009 06:19 AM

ok, Losi could take up with Associated, Yokomo, Kyosho, Tamiya, Hot Bodies, over the use of the specific front end on the XX4, which has been adopted all round.

So, CHB, I don't see where you are coming from, I defo ain't an employee, just a consumer who wants value for money. If it works, why not, imitation is flattery, no?

If you're going to accuse people of copying at least accuse them of copying the right car...

You're right, the more I look at it, the more I see Kyosho

Which of course was a totally original design and didn't borrow heavily from AE & Losi!

millzy 18-06-2009 09:55 AM

can it be that much of a copy if there are some doubts over which buggy has been copied?

bigred5765 18-06-2009 10:17 AM

does it really matter who took what idea from who or were, this car can only be good for the rc world, and this whole thread is totaly pointlees and wrong,

Lee Martin 18-06-2009 10:18 AM

i think its a great way to get people into racing! who cares if its a copy! if i could get a copy of a Lambo for 20k made by skoda, i would buy it!

People said it of the Hyundai coupe - based on the design of a ferrari for 17k.....thats not a bad thing! but press slated it! stuuuuuuuuuuuuupid!

blue_pinky 18-06-2009 10:28 AM

I think it's great...more choice can only be good can't it? And at those prices it might help increase the numbers involved as well, especially with all the chat of the high cost of getting into rc to begin with.

One last thought...the Hyundia coupe was all show and no go wasn't it? Hopefully the annsman cars will have a bit of go to them as well...they certainly look like they'd be capable of it...very interested to hear how people are finding they run!

Nick Goodall 18-06-2009 10:38 AM

Agree with most points people are making here!

The 2wd electric market could really boom at the moment with the current boring financial crisis we're facing, this is the cheapest form of Competitive racing with Lipo and Brushless.....

This car will only help widen the scale even further offering more choice and potentially getting even more people interested in the sport.

Look how many different (Decent) manufacturers there are in 8th Scale these days, 10-15 is it?? To be honest a lot of these cars are very similar in design, it only takes small differences to make one car handle very differently.

I'm really looking forward to getting the X-Pro out on track.

Chris maybe it is a copy of a Team Asoci-osho-osi BXXX6 car!!! :woot:

I have to say I like too (yes I know we are not stocking it at present) but does not mean to say I dont like it. I will add though the copying is irrelavent as said everywhere already, they all do it, no R/C company doesnt copy somwhere down the line, some are just more blatant than others, but what will be the real test for the car will be the quality of the materials used for strength and durabilty etc as well as the ongoing supply of regular spares and tuning parts and support.

We have seen many companies come and go over the years who "dabble" in the off road market and then dis-appear from it for varying reasons (Tomy, Traxxas, Duratrax, Academy [to a point], MRC etc) some of the cars were good others were made of "cheese" because the one thing Ansmann wont have is a team of developers (the likes of Gil Losi, Cliff Lett etc) who are all highly skilled (and well paid too) at designing and developing R/C cars for optimum performance.

The R + D work is what makes the brands like Losi, Associated, X-factory, Kyosho more money to buy, but you do get the finished article with ongoing development, feedback from the worlds best drivers etc as a result. Lets be honest I dont think Ansmann (at present at least) are heading this way, but the car will take what they think are the best attributes of what these "other" companies have already come up with and offer it (because they can) at a great price.........

sosidge 18-06-2009 12:56 PM

I just realised that Ansmann also copied the name of the fancy version from a Kyosho car!

Kyosho Pro-X...

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...g?t=1245329524

But as said before, copying is rife in RC, successful concepts have been borrowed from day one. I'm not sure how many parts on the Ansmann are interchangeable with the Kyosho - if it turns out to be most of them, then that crosses the line in my opinion.
