Brushed to brushless equivelents

Just wondering, what brushed turn motors would a 13.5 and 17.5 brushless motor be equivilent too?

Thanks

some slow shit

c0sie 15-06-2009 01:43 PM

Cheers for that pinky lol

Anyone else able to help? lol

sosidge 15-06-2009 01:43 PM

Well, in the states they run 17.5 as a 27T equivalent and 13.5 as a 19T equivalent... and the brushless are faster.

BRCA 10.5 to 19T equivalence is way out of kilter now that the ESC's are generating so much speed from the stock motors.

Cheers fella :)

As Sosidge said, in the states and Australia they have adopted17.5 as the equvalent to a 27T stock, and 13.5 as equivalent to 19T.

In europe the equivalence is taken at 10.5 for 19T and 13.5 for 27T.

At my club (TC's) there is still one guy running a brushed 27T against everyone else on brushed (and that includes new timing adjustable speedos) and he's just a bit short on top end, but with a bit more torque, but then it's a good brushed and it's a small track 10mx20m. I think on larger outdoor tracks the brushless hass a speed advantage.

see 27t slow shit

i was right

-----

i do think the list needs updating- i ran a 7.5 in the b4 and a 8,5 in the sc10 and there is no way they are to the equivalant to with the power we can now get from the big packs of lipo plus as just stated the power the speedos now put out.

So would I be right in thinking that 17.5 would be somewhere between a 27T and 19T as far as performance goes?

Cheers again :)

Not really between those, but I would say close to the 27T, or maybe slightly slower.

Bag of skill are you the same bag of skill on the shumacher fourms with the prototype Mi 3.9 ??

Yeah, that's me.

Have you raced that yet , it looks ACE :D

What are you looking for? Do you need a motor to run at Club with the BL guys, or are you wanting to build a 'wet' car for circuit racing?

There are no 'equivalents' in BRCA for using BR in BL classes. IME, 10.5 is closer to 12T BR these days, with the new speedo software available for BL. I'd guess an average 19T might keep up with a 13.5BL, and something around 24 or 25T (if you can buy one!) would keep up with a 17.5.

The problem is the word equivalent - there is no equivalence between BR and BL motors. However, you can get a BR motor that will keep up with a BL on the track in terms of speed and lap times with just a little testing to see what works. Remember that, as each month passes, and new BL speedo software is released, you'll have to up the BR motor power to keep up. HTH :)

Hey fella,

Im after a motor for the missus in her B4. She is looking to do the Regionals next year (Mid West) but in the mean time she is going to be racing indoors.

I had my eye on the 15.5 AI LRP combo, abit faster than 27T but abit slower than 19T??

The Eraser motor is bonded, therefore not hugely fast but will last her a season or so until she needs some more power.......or.......do I get her something a little too fast and then just limit the throttle EPA?

Thanks for the help :)

I agree, mid west run 2wd and 4wd on different weekends. If you're going to be dragged along to outdoor meetings shirley you'll want to race too.

Unless you take the front driveshafts out of your B44 you ain't gonna be able to run!!

I'd go for a 10.5 and limit it on the Tx for indoors, these outdoor tracks tend to be quite large compared to club.
