 VERY Nice idea...
;)

Looks nice, but what is the aim??

Is the receiver under the top deck? Between servo and Speedo?

Lowie 14-06-2009 08:30 PM

but why a new carbon deck by AC?
Isn't the original also allready a carbon one?

where is the advantage of switching to an AC-deck?

Chrislong 14-06-2009 08:33 PM

Ok, ive also made this mod and ran it at Blyth. On my car it takes 20g from the front and and adds it to the rear. Which is a 2% change. The reason my car was slow when I was on the track with you on Saturday is the only saddle packs I have are some elderly 3200 20c jobbies

On mine the receiver is on top deck over the cells, the servo is mounted like a nimh car, and I have further plans.

Jonathan, check your PM's

There is no mention of an AC top deck, the one in the photos is a Schumacher one

Good work as usual JC :)

OldTimer 14-06-2009 08:45 PM

The aim is simple, to move weight towards the rear of the car ;) with the lipo tray we can also add extra weight under the lipos, so there would be more than a 2% change.

But there is a limitation, as the cells are close to the belt already before putting lead under there.

The chassis is milled to drop the lipos lower :p

LOL;)

matdodd 14-06-2009 08:57 PM

Chris you can get 2 strips of lead under the lipo with room for the belt after looking a Tony's today
So id say it will make quite a difference!

tony12795 14-06-2009 09:08 PM

It’s a standard top deck.

Built it at 2.30 while helping Stan build his car. So there are a few things that need moving around.

MattW 14-06-2009 09:10 PM

Are, if it shifts the weight further back, then it suddenly becomes more interesting. Guess that means my judgement eye is off at the moment, as my gut feel was that it would move the weight balence forward :o

tony12795 14-06-2009 09:15 PM

Forgot to mention, the cells I was using today were speed power 4200 not these 4400 that are in.

(Thanks JB)

Chrislong 14-06-2009 09:17 PM

Good work Mr.AC, very much like the idea of the sunken cells to allow the use of lead...
