Bodies for an RB5

What bodies will fit an RB5?

I do not like the fact that the original body does not fit tightly.
When I drive my Pred I hardly get any moisture into my car when driving in wet conditions.
I would like to find a similar solution for the RB5.

I've always ran the standard shell and never had an issue with to much water, dirt etc getting in the car. The new SP shell is an improvement but still doesn't fit entierly snug.

The proline Vortex shell fits all the way around the chassis.

i use the crowd lpeaser from proline. hugs the chassis nicely and one of the nicer looking shells for the car

Hey Niggs,

I only found the Vortex-body from Proline, fitting an RB5.

The Crowd Pleaser seems designed for the B4

... or does it also fit the RB5??

The Azarashi "Quracca" is another nice looking option for the RB5

This is my rb5 after a heat in rainy conditions.. No water/dirt inside at all, and its with the kit body..
The trick is to use a wide tape "gaffa" or "silver" type to seal up the holes between the chassis and body.

Afterall you know when its gonna be wet and muddy and you just have to adapt to that and prepare everything.. i just see this as rainpreparations

you are offcourse correct. But the thing is that this RB5 will be used in an endurance-race (on a grass track) ... and thus we have the need for a body that can be quickly opened and closed again when swapping batteries ... without the need of taping every hole every time.

a friend of mine glued some bits of thick neoprene to the concave spots of the chassis to fill out the holes. it went almost dustsealed.. could maybe work with bumber rubber or something too. im gonna check for some pictures

JConcepts also has a shell for the RB5 #0047.

niggs98 12-06-2009 06:29 AM

caneye 15-06-2009 11:26 AM

i like the Jconcepts body. very clean lines. and for that price, you get 2 very big & sturdy wings too. value for $$.

And what body is this? This seems not a Jconcepts-body to me, but I can be mistaken.
