Have you bought mmodified motors already? If not i would get a brushless system. It means really really low mainternance you can put that lathe in the museum. And no more rebrushing motors. I would recomend the LRP or Nosram one but the novak system is very good. But if yu have already bought brushed motors or wish to stay brushed i would get a nosram razor evolution or dominator evolution or the LRP quantum 2 competition or quantum 3 competition. These are all top of the range speedo's. And i highly recomend all of them. But i would avoid mtroniks.
What car are you going for? If you need any more help dont hesitate to ask most of us dont bite. A |

Cheers for that, i was thinking brushless but was unsure! I have just ordered the trf501x(because of oople review). I used to race for losi, so i wanted to try something that little bit different, give most things a go once!! lol

But in all seriousness i shouldnt have said that i should have put it another way. (Like avoid cheap mtroniks)the new mtroniks IP6 is a pretty good speedo but i think it would be the ONLY mtroniks speedo i would buy.
Did you forget paul? http://www.northernracer.com/nwgp2007/59.htm Quote:

that was user error, it was wired wrong for a month.. go try that with your quantum.

Do you recon the brushed or brushless system is the way to go, and what are the pro's and cons?
Appreciate any help on this one!!!! |
I had a xx4 with the chassis milled to half thickness in places, and no snapping believe it or not!!!
|
Brushless is more exspensive than brushed in the short run but in the long run it works out alot cheaper. Brushed requires skimming rebrushing and they are high mainternace especially in 4wd. But also brushless doesnt feel like a brushed motor. A brushless motor doesnt slow the car down like a bruhsed motor meaning you have to break or you can set the rolling break to act like a brushed motor. But i would higly recomend brushless as it is alot easier i intend on going brushless in my xx4 before the summer.

The effect is known as 'cogging' and if you get it in brushless it is entirely eletronic. The cogging effect in brushed is so much better as you don't have to be on the brakes as much, which i don't like personally.
I get 3 meetings out of a motor in 2wd and 1 in 4wd with a brushed. |
It's a good ESC. It is just a rebadged KO PROPO VFS-1.
