BK2 drive shafts on an X6??
Have i got this right i have got a second hand BK2 and i am trying to fit the rear drive shafts to my X6 but i can't see how to do it for the life of me ?????
I thought it was all going well rebuilt the rear of the car just swaping the drive shafts over but they dont fit into the Diff so i presume i only need the outer axel and the B4 dogbone as such How do i do it ??????? Anyone got a photo of the finished Drive shaft???? Thanks |

I have found out my Problem this BK2 i have bought , well it was advertised as a BK2 but it has drive shafts like the XX4 not MIP ones I did not think i was that bad at working things out ....
The ones i have won't fit at all |
Thats because many ppl changed to the dogbones as they made the car handle better over bumps.

I suspect its a BK2 modded back to be like the proto CR's with the older type drivedshafts. You could get BK2 dogbones, I used the outer axle part when I modded my XXX4 to get more rear droop as I recall.

I`ve just fitted some of the BK2 Rear Axles to my X6.
The turnbuckles now rub on the inside of the rear wheel. I know JConcepts do some low profile balls cups or Do I need to change the rear hub carriers to Rayspeed etc ? Whats the best replacement, hub carriers to get ? |
The turnbuckles rub on the inside of the wheel... do you mean at full droop? I can't see how they'd rub on the wheel at ride height, as changing the axle doesn't change the hubs at all.
|
If I run the longest link on the hub (B4 hubs) then mine get close enough that they have rubbed occasionally (small rub gouges in ball ends) but in general they don't (todays wheels show no evidence of rubbing). Have you got the E speed hangers? They drop the inner camber link which improves the handling and makes the catching less of an issue.
If you are really worried, limit the shocks a little more, you'll still have more droop than stock, just not as much as you can. |
Rayspeed or RacersEdge hubs are the way to go, Mine don't even nearly rub on Rayspeed hubs.
The E-speed hangers turned to low position gives more clearance. The angled J-Concepts things will help you if not changing anything else. |
What changes did you find changing from STD hubs to RE/RS hubs chris? I've a set of RS 0.5 hubs in my box that ive never used..
|
i have a spare pair of CVD axles genII which is what we all use to gain the extra droop, you just replace the b4 ones for these direct fit nps pm me if you need a set,

Well its possible to get additional tuneability, and in the low position its lower then the plastic, so with the E-speed hubs the camber change is not quite so aggressive.. Chris |
E Speed parts have already been ordered and I think I will treat myself to some new hubs.
Thanks for everyones help. |
Just thinking aloud, don`t suppose yokomo bx rear hubs will work ?
