You just need to clean the prism / mirror. Easily done. I'd get some eclipse fluid and some sensor swabs or something similar. It doesn't have to be perfect to look perfect (unlike the sensor)

I'd definitely not use anything dry, like a brush or air etc - it might end up on the sensor and degrade your actual photos.

I only clean my sensor when it's unbearable.

cleaned the mirror, and can still see em..........

it'll be on the prism in the roof of the camera

mark christopher 05-06-2009 02:33 PM

can i get in there?
been qouted £60 to have it done

It's easy, honest. You just need some sorta sensor stick/swab thing that'll allow you to poke about up there and get some cleaning juice on it to clean it up.
Takes a couple of minutes and like I say - it's not critical like the sensor so the slightest spec or smear isn't going to show up unlike with the sensor.

think i have a cleaning kit some where, cheers jimmy
you doing blyth?

jimmy 05-06-2009 02:56 PM

Yeah I might be there on saturday for 4WD

I never bother with dust/hairs on the prism, just the sensor as those are the only ones that'll actually affect it. Even then I usually leave them untill it becomes just unbearable to clone them all out :p
