Anyone been or got any comments as I'm not going to Le Mans this year so looking for another alternative holiday. Looking at September time with a budget of circa £700 - £1000 per person

It's ok if you like a holiday in a compound, a lot of surrounding areas are too dangerous to go out in. I know of tour buses being shot at going through villages and on excursions.

that'll be a no then. think of corsica, scicilly also fancy st lucia. other half wants a holiday in the Uk. err no thanks..

my sista got married in st lucia, loverly place, bit nicer than the dominican

been to the dominacan twice, you so have to stay in though but there are the usual puss trips

cuba is nice, went last year had a great time there, even though there was a hurricane....:(

There Was A Hurricane In St Lucia When We Was There And Again In Florida That Was Hurricane Katrina , It Seems They Follow Me Around :confused: :thumbsup:

Or you could try avoiding hurricane season :confused:

I went to the Dom Rep in Oct '07 and thought it was great. We went to Samana which is not a heavily touristy area and the locals were very friendly. There wasn't a great deal to do outside the hotel complex though.

How about Egypt?

I wouldnt recommend anybody to go to the Dominican Republic. Long flight, really nothing to do outside of the complex if you had the balls to go outside and the journey from the airport to the complex is awful. I couldnt believe people lived like they do there! Mud huts and 4 to a scooter aswell!!
Try Portugal. Miles nicer!

I can vouch for Monaco, it's the bollox!! im on the balcony over looking the harbour now :thumbsup:

EGYPT { SHARM EL SHEIK } would recomend go every year my dad has just bought property there

been to dom rep 5 times , heard all the crap about not going out and it was sound

but think it does depend where you stay

Sosua town and casa marina hotel was the best :thumbsup:
