Wacattack Raceway Report - Round 2
Following on from last seasons inaugural event at Wacattack raceway, today was the second round of this prestigious event. This year saw a huge imprevement in attendence, 100% up from last year, increasing from 1 entrant to 2.
The first entrant, and a runner in last years event, was my good self racing the RC10B4. The second entrant, and a first time racer ever, was my wife Meemee who also raced my RC10B4. The track itself was very similar to that of last year, with a broad array of track features including sink bowls, toolboxes and battery cases to mark out the track.... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2464/...041c66.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2473/...f47dbe.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3388/...86879b.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3417/...f88051.jpg?v=0 The straight was small, with the track itself quite windy. Throughout the course of the day the track changed quite a bit due to random crashes into the track markings which made lap times a little inconsistent. Meemee, making her debut to racing, took to the rostrum with confidence. Her transmitter handling was a little different to what we are accustomed to, with the transmitter being held at a 90 degree angle to her body... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3576/...b6cbae.jpg?v=0 Her driving style, was a little "iratic" at times, with some near misses with the nearby flower bed.. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3338/...0e08aa.jpg?v=0 ... and a track marking.... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2446/...04b0a5.jpg?v=0 Both of us managed to qualify 8th in the final (how, when there were only 2 runners is a very good question), with a closeup of the car on the starting line below... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3413/...c8d402.jpg?v=0 The day itself was deemed a huge success and I would like to thank Meemee for her participation in the partaking in the racing Other images of the day can be seen below.... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3299/...a0e73b.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2466/...85245b.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3557/...3dc676.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3584/...168e91.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3601/...789164.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3413/...f9998c.jpg?v=0http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3627/...80cf07.jpg?v=0http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3596/...52f1c0.jpg?v=0http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3365/...0a7815.jpg?v=0http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2464/...041c66.jpg?v=0http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3417/...f88051.jpg?v=0http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3611/...554ab0.jpg?v=0 |
Excellent...!
Can I also congratulate you on keeping your garden soooooo tidy... (apart from the odd toolbox and sink bowl of course...) BTW, meemee is a babe... :woot: (sorry if that sounds gratuitous...) |
tidy!
The garden that is |
So who's the geezer in the red hat with the tranny lives in the timber house in the corner of the garden :D
|
you've done well there mate - lovely missus, lovely house
I'm currently house hunting at the mo. my gf doesn't fully appreciate how much I need a) a garage and b) a massive back garden for RC related shenannigans! if I were you I'd take up all the grass, buy some losi mini-t trucks and make a short course style dirt track :woot: |
Cheers guys. I think building a track with sink bowls is one thing, digging up the grass to create a dirt track is something i dont think even my wife would fully support, its worth asking though!
