Tamiya 84057 Black Porsche 934 kit

Any one tempted to pre-order? I've done mine :D

am a little confused though, been quoted a release price of around £100 does that mean its a tamtech? (GT-01 chassis) they not so good compared to the "real deal" Tamiya's are they? I had one of these as a kid and from what i remember it was kinda pants...?!?!?

twisty 22-05-2009 04:28 PM

It would be rude not to.A Chap i know alledgedly has 15 Black 934`s pre ordered and 10 Buggy Champs  but that could be just warm air :D
I really rate the new collectors club Tamtech gear very highly.

Yes i´ts a tamtech, and i guess the chassi is better than the original in handling.

whooop mine arrived!

dont worry - this aint one that is going to stay in the box for all its life :D

question now - what would be a good brushless system to fit? tempted to go Lipo too, suggestions PLS! new to Lipo's so from the basics!

also - can i use my tamiya ESC/Rx combo & standard tamiya battery for this/tamtech kit? if so, how long would i need to charge the battery for? I got one of those old school Riko chargers, was looking at getting one of these batteries...

http://www.fusionhobbies.com/Product...=TTG1&CartID=1

is that the right type? I think i need a NiCad for my riko charger right?

Hi,
in standard trim they are dog slow and desperately need oil filled dampers, there are 3 good options for dampers, either the plastic Tamiya option hopup ones[£15.00],the 3 racing alloy ones[£20.00] or the loverly alloy Tamiya airation ones[a bit pricey at about [£55.00]
Motor wise, brushless is surely the way to go,i have Castle Mamba 25`s in a few of my runner TTG`s,i would recomend a 5400 - 6800 kv one ,leaving more gearing options, the 8000kv one is mad fast and the transmition will handle the power. You need to file the top hole on the motor plate a little to get them to fit[easy job]
For batterys, the chassis is quite heavy so i mainly use Lipo`s,there are plenty of lipo options and they are much better value than 1/10,power to weight makes them fly and they have excellent duration.
A while ago i bought a Prolux 104 charger,it will do all types and sizes of cells for RC use[lipo`s included]
I can`t recomend brushless and lipo`s enough, the transformation is stunning.
HTH
:)

Hey Twisty!

I think I saw a post of yours on Tamiya club about optional parts you bought but can’t seem to find it?

Thanks for the info, not sure wether to go Lipo (have to fork out for the whole brushless motor/charger/esc/rx set up) or to go with standard battery & fast motor set up hmm : P

I had a look at the 3 racing dampers – they look ace, they are on my shopping list!

Anyone know if the tamiya esc/rx combo fine to use with tamtech battery & 370 motor?

: )

Yes it uses a small servo, there should be a list with the kit of servo`s
that will fit, standard servo is much to big.
I have the list somewhere if you can`t find it.

have anyone tried to put a 934 static body on the GT-01 chassis? I missed the chance to get the 84057 kit. I have #57101 and a static kit already, therefore I'm thinking to put the static body on the GT-01....however, i saw that the side plates on the chassis are different. I think it is for holding the static body. Can anyone have the manual of 84057 kit pls scan those pages about the side plate for body mounting....?

thanks alot....
