Hacker E40 Brushless Motors

Anybody use or know about these?

How do they compare with the more popular brands, LRP, Novak, etc:confused:

chris_dono 19-05-2009 05:53 PM

they are much much quicker :)

mark christopher 19-05-2009 06:25 PM

should be brca legal

I had a 6.5 Hacker in my B44, It is great motor. Good price too. The can and endbell look exactly like a Novak if you compare the two. Highly recommended!

How much are they compare to the other main brands?

It's not on the 10.5 list - maybe the modified?

KRob 21-05-2009 03:47 PM

Nope, checked that as well... (and the 13.5 just to be certain...)

colmo 21-05-2009 04:49 PM

I believe it's ROAR legal - perhaps that's the point of confusion.

Chesty 23-05-2009 06:50 AM

Thanks for the info guys. Looked on the website, if it's good enough for Josh Cyrul, it's good enough for me:thumbsup:

Shame about the BRCA thing, I'll run it at club meetings...

If it's ROAR approved, I would have thought it would be OK to be submitted for BRCA/EFRA approval.

Surely it would pay for itself in extra sales

I'm not sure if there's a major UK distributor for Hacker - it's usually they that submit products to BRCA, is it not?

I believe there's nothing to stop you submitting it to them yourself!

I've seen those - they must be buying them directly from Hacker in Germany. Without a distributor like CML or Mirage (RIP!) with a vested interest in promoting that product in the UK market, there's no-one willing to go through the hassle of BRCA submission.

Edit: Thanks for the update - I did not realise TrakPower/Flightpower were a distributor in their own right.

mark christopher 23-05-2009 12:26 PM

hacker are distributed in the uk by trakpoer/flighttech, i was lead to belive they were going to be brca aproved

KRob 23-05-2009 12:27 PM

Ah, not so Colmo,
Trakpower/Flighttech bring in the Hacker motors.
We have asked numerous times if they will get them homologated but no joy :(

That's why Mark's post intrigued me, but he has yet to reply...
Edit: Arse - what were the chances of that - 3 days and nothing and the very same minute

Mark, that is quite a different statement to the one you made originally about the legality of these motors...

mark christopher 23-05-2009 12:43 PM

kieth
Was lead to believe in jan/feb they were brca ok, some of my team mates run em , i have asked and will find out from trakpower why there not.

Chesty 15-06-2009 12:30 PM

Ran my Hacker E-40 6.5 for for the first time competitively yesterday.

Wow:thumbsup:

It was ballistic - as quick as anything on the track (including a right numpty running a 4.5L & 35C Lipos:lol:) & super smooth too.

Only thing letting them down is the BRCA approval thing...
