Opposite to a countersunk washer

I have a countersunk hole and want to fit a ball joint (basically a button head screw)

I need a washer that will go into the countersunk hole and leave a flat surface to screw the ball joint too.

Any pointers will be most welcome. Tried to PM Mr North but he's full.

They are available in anno'ed ally (or at least used to be). If you're having trouble make your own. If you don't have a lathe take a CS screw, drill the right size hole though the top allen key- down to the shank, the shank will fall off and job done.

I know the thing you mean and I have seen them referred to as a "cone washer". I've used them on a couple of cars, either to fill in a countersunk hole, or to widen the contact area of a button head screw on a flat surface.

Jet Racing make them, #JE-43 in blue and purple. You can get them through your local Much-More Racing UK dealer.

I like the idea, but you are assuming I am not a danger to everyone with anything but a craft knife.
