Foam inserts for tyres?

Building up my first car for over 15 years... and ive got to the tyres.

Instructions for the B44 say front tyre + front insert + front wheel. So the front insert is foam.

But when im placing the foam insert into the front tyre is hanging out the side of the tyre as well. Am I meant to trim down the foam?? or just keep squashing it in there ? - just doesnt look right to me

thanks:confused:

i have always done the inside of the insert, that makes it fit the wheel and still have the shape to fit the out side of the tire, looking at the way yours is(unless the insets is inside out)the insert will still be at risk of coming into contact with the glue, and the out side of the tire will have no insets in to keep its shape,
im sorry if i have seen this wrong and please correct me if im wrong
