X5 - nut trouble
When I tighten up the front wheel nuts, there's a slight amount of binding. It's only minor, but noticeable when you rotate the diff.
Is this common, and is there a fix? Cheers, Scotty P. |
this may sound stupid but are you over tightening the wheel nuts? doing them up to tight will cause some binding
|
It should not happen. Maybe the spacer between the bearings is missing? Just a thought.
|
are you using b44 rims if so youll need the b44 hexs as well
|
I'd bet a large amount it's one of the things in the two posts above!

Losi hex & rim. Nuts not over tight.
Will check the spacer, but I seem to recall putting this in. Any other ideas? Cheers, Scotty |
Whilst you have the bearings out to check if you have the spacer in, check that the bearings have not siezed. If they have you will find that the spindle will rotate inside the inner race of the bearing when the wheel is not tight, as soon as you tighten the wheel the inner races will be locked onto the spindle and forced to rotate, so you will then notice a knackered bearing

Seems I'm the nut! Spacer was missing :woot: My car was actually a complete kit and the instructions made no mention of the spacer. Still, should have picked it up during the build... rookie :D
