Jumps

Do people think a 30 degree up ramp is too steep?

Looking at 2ft high with a 4ft up ramp,

Depends on the transition onto it.

Rythym section, I'll try and explain it a bit better,

1st two jumps 4ft up ramp and down ramp 1ft high, 2nd pair 4ft up ramp 8ft down ramp 2ft high, final pair 4ft up ramp and down ramp at 1ft high.

It'll have smooth transitions between each set not just two bits of mdf pushed together like this \/, using thin boards that bend.

It all sounds pretty good, nothing too stupid.

The only way you will ever know though is it to make it and run a car over them. The spacing between jumps might need a little adjustment once there built.

hi our table top at broxtowe is exactly the same 4' at 30deg = 2' high
we have added another 2' section approx 3rd up the ramp to ease takeoff,
without it the cars slap down too hard, but the 30deg is spot on for takeoff easily covering the 9' length. you may want to think about the height as the cars will be able to clear a massive distance with quite a short runup!
cheers andy

Tried it, seems to work, needs to be placed better but we didn't know how much space it would take up.

looks really good! I think that at the bents park (jarrow) regional next week and the kicker that was there last year as main features for the track would be awsome ;)

Whilst that kicker is very good, I remember last year it caused some problems with the wind. Maybe something to take into consideration, considering the wind was a problem at NRX, for the people who were there.

Maybe if we put the tents/rostrum at the other side as last year it will act as a wind break?

How big do you want the track to end up:D you'll need binoculars to see the far side:woot:

In all seriousness I don't think the kicker jump will be there, unless I get off my arse this week and rebuild it as they spent a little too long in the rain. As for the rythym(sp) section it may be there or it may not, you'll just have to wait and see.
