IMHO |
I have run MG645s as throttle servos in 1/8th with KO gear without problems.
I have the opposite opinion to Dan regarding HiTec servos and run them exclusively in all my cars (and have done for something like 8 years) except the FS which has a Futaba 9550 in purely to make instalation easier. |
The hs-645 might not be digital which could be why you're having problems. my futaba 3pk won't work with analogue servos.

Making it 2-1 to the "don't ever waste your time with a Hitec servo" camp. Unless you are running the KO radio in high-response mode, there shouldn't be any problems. Hitec servo's are just terrible. Invariably if a car has a radio problem, there is a piece of Hitec equipment in there somewhere. Stick with real Japanese quality brands like KO, Futaba and Sanwa. |
Excellent Rog, just to keep up with our, "I couldn't disagree with you more..................." :)

thanks for the replys guys the hi-tec servo was just to get the 1/8 up and running but did'nt work so have a savox on the way  give that a try any comments on the savox servos
cheers paul:) |
Strange  i ran a hitec in my S4 for a full season without an issue and infact have one for my throttle servo right now in the 8th also without a problem.

Inconsistency is one of Hitec's most consistent issues.

savox are awesome fast torquey and bombproof

I can honestly say that I've never had a bad HiTec servo or reciever and use them in my planes as well as cars.
That said in a money no object world all my kit would be pure Futaba. Savox servos seem to be very good from what I can gather from those running them. |
Well I've had plenty of issues with Hitec stuff and for me it's clear, never again
