Anyone used one fo these ? am looking to run it on trakpower 4900 and a 10.5t motor ?

Will that be ok ?

cheers

Funny...I ordered one of these yesterday from Demon. The description on their site and Orions is that its only 70amp with the 100 amp version being a bit more ( 65003 i think ). The over 6.5 rating is listed the same though.:)
I'm putting mine in a B4 with speed passion lipo and an 8.5 ( if I can get hold of a cheap one) .
If a 10.5 with lipo in 2wd is quick enough then thats the route I'll take......Anybody know if that type of combo could still be ( club ) competitive.:)

rcracer 02-05-2009 08:43 AM

I run the 100 amp and its 3.5 turns and over.

mdb_75 02-05-2009 08:49 AM

Yep the 100amp version's 3.5t and over.

The link you have put to apex is actually for the 70amp part number ori65004 -they just have the text wrong. They have the ori65003 (the 100amp) for £84.

Modelsport sells the ori65003 100amp for £69 I got one the other day!

Albertini 02-05-2009 09:30 AM

Can't believe I missed these deals:( I just paid more than that for the 70amp.

How do they go then?

Si Coe 02-05-2009 12:06 PM

I just bought one of the 70A versions from Roundabout Toys for just £39! Which makes it cheaper than a 60A Hobbywing (ironic as its made by them) and sensored/sensorless instead of pure sensorless to boot.

Bargain!

Mine's arrived in the post this morning (overnight:)) looks good apart from the fact there is no fan attached, as shown in the pictures.

Anybody else's like this, or should it have one. The shop I got it from aren't sure, can anybody confirm either way? Thanks.:)

Si Coe 02-05-2009 02:48 PM

Mine doesn't have a fan either. It seems the 70A version doesn't come with on as standard

This seems strange, the pics of the 70amp version always show a fan and the specifications in the user guide show the dimensions for both the 70 and 100 amp versions as the same size with both measurements including a fan.

Maybe the only difference between the two is the fan?! I wouldn't have thought so though.

Si Coe 02-05-2009 07:32 PM

Mine now does have a fan. It only cost a couple of quid from the local PC shop.....

bronco 14-05-2009 11:15 AM

Does it fit in a B4 (both 70A and 100A versions)?

I think you can't leave the fan on top of the esc.

Si Coe 14-05-2009 12:41 PM

It fits, just! The fan pushs the shell slightly upwards, but not by much.

bronco 14-05-2009 01:45 PM

Can anyone compare performance between the Ezrun 60A and the Orion 70A?

I might change esc's to get the benefit of sensored mode. Only if the Orion performs equally.

Si Coe 14-05-2009 05:44 PM

In sensorless mode the Ezrun is a easier to set up thanks to the setting box (not tested if this is compatible with the Orion yet) but otherwise nothing in it.
Sensored mode is definately smoother at lower speeds, but mid to top end its pretty identical.

What kind of servos are you running with 70A or 100A Vortex?

I'm just asking, 'cause I have had some problems with C&C Sidewinder with fast servos. Currently I'm running coreless Savox and it draws so much current that I have to run my Sidewinder as mild as possible to compensate that. Otherwise when turning steering from side to side, motor's rpm will decrease. :bored:

Si Coe 03-06-2009 08:54 PM

Mines running with a Ace Ds1015. Which used to drain the receiver pack in my nitro far faster than the Savox that replaced it - suggesting a higher current.

So the Vortex should handle fast servos as well. Thanks for the info! I ordered one.

rcmadd 04-06-2009 01:22 PM

i got the 70amp version for £40:o:thumbsup:

AiR 10-06-2009 05:48 AM

I received my ESC yesterday. It's a bit larger than C&C Sidewinder. Fits just to B4's side box. Capacitor's cables could be longer.

rcmadd 10-06-2009 07:23 AM

i still not got mine:thumbdown:

i think its lost in the post:(
