Soldering a Orion Revolution Motor

It's driving me mad tonight as whenever I solder the ESC connectors on they don't bind and it's driving me nuts. WTF am I missing before I junk this 12 x 2 motor for my stock 19 x 2 motor :(

hot iron with a fat tip, and patience. What you can do, though, to make it easier in the future, solder either half a battery bar on each terminal, or a corally tube, then solder the motor wires to them, far easier.

I'll give it a go, but I expect I'll just bin it

Number one rule is let the iron get hot before you use it. Ensure the tip is clean ( use a file on it if you have to and then damp kitchen towel to wipe it once its up to temperature. It should be shiny before adding solder to the tip ).
Tin the tip with a small amount of solder. Then tin the ends of the ESC wires. Do the same with the motor terminals again keeping everything clean. You will find that they "bind" easily once you have tinned both ends and have kept everything clean during the process. You can remove burned on flux with a little bit of motor cleaner on a cloth.
