I was running 15/82 (Yellow Spur) with a LRP 5.5. I have now gone to 15/84 to get closer to the recommended gearing. Basically as far forward as the motor will go in the chassis.

I've not personally run my new X11 motors in my XX4 yet.

But Chris Bowater borrowed my car at the Marston Indoor Meeting and I dropped in the X11 5.5t, geared on 17/84 and it ran very well indeed.

Well enough to convince Chris to make a brushless purchase the following day. ;)

I think I'll be dropping it back to 16/84 when I run it next week.

any reason your running the 84 spur over 82 or is it just so you can fit the smaller pinion in?

Same reason as Tom really, just makes it easier to get close to the recommended ratio.

It does need a little dremel work, to be safe that there's clearance near the chassis. It may look OK during build, but over jumps and bumps the shock does bounce it into contact unless dremelled.

Which one you running, red or blue??

neither im staying brushed, marks running blue

so would you run a 17 or 18 with 82 spur

_sleigh_ 08-02-2007 08:32 PM

On a 6.5t probably 82/17 or 82/18, 5.5t 82/15 or 82/16

Is the kit spur 84 or 82?What pinion should i be running at a tight track like Teeside with a brushed 12 x2 checkpoint??

XXXCRRacer 09-02-2007 03:37 AM

On my XX4 I run the 6.5 Brushless with an 86 spur. And pinion I run a 18.
I lockout my spur and run the clicker on full soft. Hope that helps.
