CAT SX Springs

Hi Chaps, Just a quick question, is it worth getting the full spring set F+R for the Cat or is it just worth getting the odd few that work? I am going to be racing at EPO, Faversham indoors, Bit of grass stuff at the SE regionals.

I have a Phil Booth Cat so i think it has grey and red fitted as standard.

Mark,
much will depend on how much of a habitual fiddler you are (or want to be):woot:
For EPR, many of the CAT drivers appear to have settled on the spring combo that your version came with - with possibly the option to drop a rate to Red fronts and yellow rears.

Can't really comment for the Fav indoor surface but for outdoor, I doubt if you will move around much from the standard combo unless you feel the need for a fiddle:woot::woot:

Thanks for the help! I do like a fiddle now and again but thats a different story! I will leave it as for now and maybe get some Yellow springs for Faversham? I will have a look on Wed to see whats the norm for the indoor stuff.

hi mark, brett and i (maybe gordon) are using grey fronts and new red rears.but rich is using yellow rears! see you tomorrow matey.

Although I have never been to Faversham's indoor venue (yet) I think red fronts and yellow rears could help in low grip conditions.
During the winter, I went a grade softer on spring outdoors with good results.

These four springs are the only ones I have ever used so far....

Cool thanks Matt and Gary, I will get some on order, can't wait to give it a run!

this may sound stupid but are the yellow springs that come with the kit, are they softer or harder than the red and grey most people seem to be running???

frefon 21-04-2009 07:48 PM

yellow are soften than red and red are soften than grey

deepdale11 21-04-2009 07:52 PM

thanks...what's best for short grass track??

Minster68 21-04-2009 09:55 PM

Yeah, Garry's right, I'm using grey front and red rear springs also.

Personally, I have only been using the old springs, but then i haven't done a massive amount of running recently, and would probably move to the new springs at some point soon.

I think the majority are probably using the new ones now, but obviously not 100% sure.

Mossy 25-04-2009 02:34 PM

Mine are the new ones.

Si
