Help with losi xcelorin
 

Hi,im a new member today.Need help with the losi esc,ive bought two in the past 3 weeks and both have died !.The first combo,i was only able to use the steering,the throttle and brake was zero.Tried various settings,downloads from Losi web site.Had enough of trying to repair so bought another combo last week.Eventually got round to installing new combo,all working fine.Thats until about two hours ago i tried the pc software,Downloaded version 2 etc as i did with the first combo.Made a few adjustments on the set up page,sent to ESC,and the ESC light went out on set up page,with only having USB light activated.Now this combo wont work.
All im getting with it is the steering,and a yellow LED on ESC.No throttle or brake...
If anyone can help me i'd be grateful,as im not buying anymore of these.

I think the yellow light is set up to tranny mode... ?? might sound like a stupid question, but have you set it up to the tranny?
Also, Make sure it is set to the correct settings on either legacy (40 meg 27meg crystals etc) or 2.4ghz. What have you done with the first speedo? If that is really not working, then send it back to horizon hobby. I had one with a bit of trouble a couple of weeks back, they fixed it and sent it back no charge.. mine was also out of warranty... they are very helpful at horizon.

Might sound a bit obvious but when my xcelorin system only had steering and no throttle etc it was a faulty sensor lead, try using a different lead before going to the trouble of returning them.

i've had exactly the same problems tonight with my mates, it just wouldn't set up to the transmitter no matter what i did, i've now got it working ok, i ended changing the model on the transmitter , and for some reason its now let me set it up, and it all seems to be working ok:thumbsup:

Hi,thanks for replying.I,ve done the bining process,with both speedo's.The second one worked ok,i used the programing card with no faults.It only went wrong when i updated the firmware to the ESC,i set up to 2.4ghz,got a spektrum radio.Still got the first speedo,just took the motor off.I think the first ESC has had it due to no LED lit,maybe wrong.
I cant get both ESC to be recognised by the pc software set up page,only USB highlighted.
Would i be able to send them both back to Horizon without the motor attached to one of them ?.
Is it something i have done wrong in the set up page or is this a common fault that kills the ESC ?.

Might sound like a dumb question, but did the computer recognise the usb adapter? the computer should automatically install the drivers for the usb adapter, if it hasnt done this, then the pc will not recognise there is a speedo attatched.

Hi,yeah the USB has been recognised.The green light is lit for USB but not for speedo.It did at first until i upgraded the firmware to speedo,then its all gone wrong.
I think its damaged the speedo when doing the firmware upgrade.
All is lit is the yellow light on ESC,doesnt go to blue.

Just done the same mistake

You didn't have it plugged into the batteries when you connected it to the USB did you?

No batteries just updated the software and then no connection to the esc.
And a solid yellow led

Did you remember to reset it to factory defaults?

Been home for lunch and tried it again.
Just says no esc connected and a solid yellow led.
No connection what so ever with the esc.

I can only suggest you contact horizon for help, ive not had this issue with any of mine. The people there are very knowledgeable.

Hi,i contacted horizon regarding faults.They just said post items and they'll take a look.
Not heard anything from them yet,it'll be a week tomorrow.

A week since they received it? Even then it would only be 4 working days if they looked at it that day.

hiya my mate had the exact same problems as you he sent it back to horizon and they sent him a new one back within 2 days of posting it to them :thumbsup: awesome service

we had the a problem with ours ..........spanking new out of the box .....set the thing up went to a meeting spent most of the day with the car on the table all it would do was stutter and cut out :mad:................sent the lot back and was replaced in two days with new motor and speedo great service on the turn round :thumbsup:done one meeting with no probs but still not sure on the combo yet :confused:...............on the plus side the motor was a 6.5 turn and was mucho fast :)

i got same problem that kallel has got , how do i send it back do i have to contact the, first etc??
