What your local shop sells so you can always use the same brand!

They vary so much going from one brand to another can make a huge difference.

If your planning on using set-ups of mine then I always use Associated (AE) oils.

Like Roger said, its best to stick with one brand of oil for all the weights. I use all Losi oils myself, Roger says he uses all Associated. It comes down to personal preferance and possibly availability.

The most common oil weights I use here in the California is 25, 27.5, 30, and 32.5. I know you guys sometimes use some heavier weights over there because of the higher bite surfaces you get to run on. If you have a local track, just ask a few of the racers what they run and/or prefer. Also, what size pistons in your shocks can make a difference in what oil you choose to.

Oh, and yes the oil weights are a little different between brands as well. Thats why its best to stick with one brand of oil so that you stay consistent with your tuning. Losi oil tends to be about 2.5w thicker than comprable AE oil. I.E. Losi 27.5w is about equal to AE 30w.

Paul,

for the UK you will be looking at getting 25,30,35 and possibly 40wt oils. All quoted as AE rates and as hopsing says a "rule of thumb" is about 2.5wt different AE to Losi although if you look around on the net you will find more scientific results to compare themajor brands.

I use AE oils as it was always in stock in all weights at DC Racing where as the Losi oils weren't always and some had to be ordered. I think that was due to the relative popularity of the AE cars to Losi cars in my area.
Both brands (and indeed the Kyosho and X-ray oils too) are very consistent bottle to bottle unlike some of the lesser brands so I'd suggest you use one of them.
