neo09 - Maifield and Tebo take the wins.

Day four of the international neo race 2009 saw plenty of drama and controversy. Ryan Maifield took TQ in Electric 8th and took the first and third leg to take overall victory. The third leg had to be re-run after a disasterous error when it was run for 5 minutes instead of 10 - but Maifield won both anyway.
Ryan Maifield 1st, Ricardo Rabitti 2nd and Lee Martin 3rd.

In the main event Maifield didn't have much luck - an engine cut saw some drama right at the end of his Semi and he went from 2nd to 'out of contention' in the blink of an eye - but stellar marshalling and an expert pit team got him back on the track. Scraping through for the A in 6th place. The main was all about Tebo however and he lead from start to finish - with a brief switch around due to fuel stops putting Darren Bloomfield upto first.
Jared Tebo 1st, Darren Bloomfield 2nd and Tamiya's Ryan Lutz 3rd.

Report's awesome dude.

Looking forward to yesterdays stuff.

I'll post up a couple of race pics from the Final in a bit - but I'll not put up any of our 'special-girls' 'till you have busted the lid off yours.

Anyone who's been reading the report and likes it - get some love posted.

Cant wait for the rest of the content Stu!

What a great weekend, my lad struggled with the track, tyres, traffic etc etc etc but had a ball!!!

Really gutted for you when your bump up was snatched away .... it was my mate who somehow had a lap missed having run 2nd all race then suddenly showed 6th on the last lap!!!!!

Gonna really enjoy reading through all this now!

By the way I reckon Vicky and her mate were much cuter  than the plastics they hired!

The report is ace guys, loving it, we need more random shizzle like Choc-offs, how about a Cheese-off, or a Crisp-off?

I'll be spending the day refreshing the days to see the pictures, can't wait to see Jimmy & Stu's handy work.

showtime 14-04-2009 08:18 AM

i was approached as a contender for the Choc-off but had to decline as i can't eat those sickly things!

but a Crisp-off? now you're talking

Stu 14-04-2009 08:30 AM

As I'd already bumped twice a third would have been greedy anyway.

What a cracking week end!

Having spent the week end with the Kyosho Boys (obviously) I can tell you that Tebo is a top notch guy.

To me he was clearly faster than Darren, but he didn't need to push as much, but he showed that when he needed to be faster he could. However it's a long final and you need consistency, which he had.

Well done Jared !

And well done to the A finalists too, with a special mention for Jerome Aygoin, bumping up from the quarters to finish 7th after a disastrous qualifying

Stu 14-04-2009 10:21 AM

Defining moment for me was at Tebo's 1st fuel stop.
Darren put the hammer down to try to be able to fuel and get out in front, but made a mistake allowing Tebo to catch up, giving him a fuel stop advantage.

Awesome stuff.
