Losi XXX-4 Graphite +
Hi!
I'm interested of bying a 4WD buggy. I have looked a bit on many different buggies. Kyosho Lazer, JConcepts BJ4, Tamiya....But I like the most the Losi XXX-4 G+. The drivetrain is secured from dirt etc...But what do you think about it? Is it a good buggy? And for the first....Is it alot of rebuilding and working with the drivetrain? Can it hold a Novak 6.5 bl-motor?? |
check the link below on my signiture the one for ebay

As long as you drive indoor on carpet or VERY smooth tracks, the XXX4 is a good car. :D
Seriously : almost everyone in europe gave up on the XXX4. It seems to be designed for the american style smooth 'blue groove' tracks. As soon as you hit bumps, it utterly fails ! There's a reason Losi re-issued the 12 year old XX4. I had a Kyosho Lazer ZX5 last year but decided to ditch it because of serious reliability issues I couldn't completely solve (leaking shocks, breaking gears, breaking front shock towers, ...). I recently bought a TRF501 and for now it has been brilliant !! Easy to setup and a real tank ! It can take more abuse then any other 4WD IMHO (indoor carpet races are very hard on offroad cars  ) and just feels planted. |
Oh okey...Thanks for the answers. I maybe have to think after which car I really want...

for the price the zx5 is the best out there. plus for a beginner the spares are the cheapest of any manufacturer!!

Get a xx-4 - they're great :)
|
The XXX-4 G+ is fantastic on a polished wooden floor but everybody seems to comment that it doesnt go too great on actual off-road tracks. We have recently gotten a few Tamiya TRF-501's and they seem to generate an extraordinary amount of grip in comparison to the Lazer's and Predators.
This is quite far removed from running offroad im sure so quite how usefull this will be to you. |
i hate it when you give the xxx4 a hard time..that is what i have got. i guess i'll have to just race indoor
|
Why not a X Factory X-5? You get the drive train of the XXX4 and the suspension of the XX4.;)

Also there is no off-road tracks remotely cose to me so I am not likely anytime in the future to get it near some bumps. |
