I'd agree with avoiding 3 and T-mobile. I couldn't get the 3 to work on PAYG on my Mac, and my brother had no end of signal problems with his T-Mobile dongle (monthly sub, not PAYG) dropping signal - and that in a North London location!

I have nothing but praise for Vodafone. My mobile gets signal where others don't, and a work colleague has a Vodafone 3G card for his PC that works everywhere - including a very cold remote coastal factory in Finland! HTH :)

Now, if only you could get an iPhone on Vodafone network...

I had a 3 mobile broadband dongle. it was the worst internet connection i have ever seen on a pc ever.

There is a 14 day period where you are supposed to be able to cancel your contract, but only if you had used the dongle less than 3 times.

We had used ours a number of times, solely to work through the "helpdesks" support, which in fact, was all a load of rubbish. because of this, we couldn't cancel.

I tried it at 3 different addresses, and on 3 different computers, and it was still aweful. The dongle was sent for repair once, and came back only to demonstrate the same issues.

It took us about 25 phonecalls, and many e-mails to finally get it cancelled.

I would recommend that you avoid 3 alltogether.
