Mid way through building XXX-CR - HELP!
:confused::confused::confused:
Am starting to build the diff, and noticed the instructions say some parts need grease and some parts need clear grease. Losi have only supplied a tube of "synthetic lubricant" with the kit... does this do the job for both normal and clear grease or do I need to get something else before carrying on? Help please, I'm dying to get this finished!!! |
The clear grease is for the diff rings and the diff balls the creamy grease is for the thrust race.

and the clear stuff should be supplied? can't see any...

Should have a tube of each in a kit look like this:

Your best bet is to ring horrizon in the morning or buy one from a shop DMS have most things in stock.

It is 27.5wt shock oil according to the parts list supplied with your kit http://losi.com/ProdInfo/Files/Explo...ist_XXX_CR.pdf
The silicone diff lube should be in your kit too, this will be the clear stuff and not the creamy coloured stuff which is for the thrust race and general lubrication (screw threads, diff shims etc), In some kits it is packed with the small tools you get, some in the first bag you open and some kits they save it for the transmission bag, have a good look and you might find you do have it. Dont be alarmed if it is not a "tube" of diff lube you get I have seen severla Losi kits with either a small round tub, a throw away sachet or even just a "splodge" in the corner of a kit build bag, but it SHOULD be there. never seen one without it before.... |
I found the losi stuff to be poor, buy some associated or muchmore grease instead.
Also, for your shocks... id advise some associated green slime, makes the shocks very well sealed (didnt know how to word that?) |
