New to Eden Park Raceway

Hi Guys,
Like most posts I am returning to 2wd RC racing after about 10 years away! OMG how much things have Lipo, brushless system 2.4mhz radio gear!
I wondering if someone could help with the following questions:
1. Are there any limits or classes for the 2wd drive class? Can you run whatever motor / lipo you want?
2. How long is the average race at EPR? 5 minutes?
3. How do I sign up for Eden Park Membership? I would like to complete some practice session before race day!
4. What turn brushless motor is being used @ EPR? 6.5? Any recommendations for a good brushless system?

We only run 2WD modified. We follow BRCA rules for motors and batteries so basically its 540-size motors and 7.4V LiPo up to 5500mAh

We race for five minutes qualifiers and finals at regional meetings (BRCA rules) although for some events, we have had seven minute finals

EPR has a website at www.edenparkraceway.com where you can download membership forms, etc. You can send them to me (can PM home address) or hand it over on a work party/race day.

Most of the top guys run 6.5T motors although a 7.5T and LiPo would be competitive.
There are a number of systems available - we would recommend what we have experience including Losi, LRP, Novak and Nosram although there are others including Tekin, Speed Passion and Orion available.

Thanks for the quick relpy! One more questions. Is there any mains power at EPR or the charging via the good 'old 12v cart battery?

Mains power is generally available during the work party/Saturday practice days, though we do appreciate contributions (small) for a supply.

These days drivers on race days generally rely on stand alone generators rather than 12v batterys, though these can suffice but sometimes struggle to supply enough power for todays high capacity batteries. One of the beauties with LiPo's is that you can charge them at home in advance of the event and just top them up during the day!

Lots of drivers 'buddy up' onto generators and for the price of a little fuel this maybe the way to go!

We may also have generators for rent or to buy from the club, please ask we're always try and help any driver, new or returning.

Keep an eye on this forum and our website, it may be best to come and have a chat at one of Saturday work party's, next one possibly Saturday 04 April!
