what ya think ?

rear brace/antsq and toein mount, can be done in Aalu to

jim76 25-03-2009 11:40 PM

there was an alloy one on here in another thread. It didn't really seem worth the money as the original kit part isn't weak at all, so strength isn't a reason to upgrade it. The only reason to upgrade the bulkhead is for added weight, hence the brass ones on the market.

The diff between the ALu and the plastic is little to the alu +. The plastic stock one is real junk. Specialy indoor in our little clubhouse..

jim76 26-03-2009 11:02 PM

how do you figure the stock one is junk? i've never know anyone break a bulkhead?

Thomas P 27-03-2009 05:02 AM

i think we have some small issiues with our little track...hard concret walls, and pillarīs. Even outdoors there have been some breakage. Im not using the plastic ones..

But does that mathers, i think it is good for the crowd to see that there is parts coming up. if someone want to buy them, thats their desicion (spelling :D:D ).

I hope i havnt ofended anyone.

/T :)

Its different parts on different cars that are supposed to crack instead of something else on the car. On the Rb5 the bulk ist the weakest part. They mean its easier to replase that instead of the front arms. They break very easy in case of a collision. Another weak part is the rear chassis plate on the Rb5.

I've never broken a wishbone, bulkhead, kyosho shock tower (have broken a couple of carbon ones) or rear chassis plate on the RB5 in 18 months of racing it .... not worn anything out either!

I am so suprised that people are breaking what is essentially the RC equivelent of a brick out-house!!!!

I have done both front bulkheads, shock tower, shock cap, hinge pins in a single crash at the Petit. Admittedly it was hitting a standing car down the straight whilst on full throttle so something's gotta give, but I was impressed by how much actually gave...

personally i have broken:

Front top plate 1
front casterlink mount 1
Rear chassi plate x 3
Gearbox 1
rear arms x 2

But this was made in track like this..

im not the only one...but i have raced Losi,AE,Atomic and with out a doubt he plastic "feels" weaker in this car. BUT it HANDLES like a dream!!!!

Almost true, but not quite for us Norwegians. We do our winter-racing indoors, and we don't have much heating. The plastic parts break really fast in the cold, and this part in particular for the RB5.

I realise that this is quite a narrow market, so I wouldn't recommend mass producing these just to handle us northern racers though.:p
