KO servo and LiPo question

I have just taken the big step into the world of surface LiPos (in the effort to start racing again after an 11 year lay off) and there seems to be a lot to learn:blush:.

I need some getting started advice please. I have a KO fet servo that has a blue lead that I usually connect to the + wire of my ESC (I'm still running a brushed set up at the moment) and I think I have read somewhere here that I need to put a resistor of some description in this wire to protect the servo (against the higher voltage of the LiPos I guess), is this correct and what sort of resistor is required? If I move to a brush less set up does anything relating to this change?

Once I get this initial set up stuff sorted and racing again I hope to learn more at the club and not have to bother you gents with such nooby questions:)

Thanks for any advice.

You need to fit a fet choke in the blue wire this will help stop interferance. Any good model shop should be able to sell you one.

Ah interference not voltage protection, cool thank you:D

I've never run a fet on any of my K.O. servo's and had no problems. Modern gear is much less problematic regards interference:thumbsup:

Thanks Gents:D

i always put a choke on a ko servo if it has the blue fet wire and connect to the positive tab on the speedo, would rather not risk getting interfeance and seeing the car lose steering and go into a wall at full throttle

When you put the choke with gentle heat put a bit of heat shrink around it and the soldering about 5mm each side of the joints.
