Trickbits Soldering Iron

Hey there people,

I was wondering if any of you lovely people have a Trickbits 12v 35w soldering iron (that works and in good condition) that you would like to sell?

I broke mine the other week  and have been looking for them but it seems that the don't exist any more.

Any help in locating would be appreciated.

MAny thanks in advance.

Andy

Since Jonathan sadly passed away last year I am not sure if Dave is still running Slipstream actively (hence why no "New" stuff is on his site). When I last spoke to his wife Janet at Horizon regarding the irons, this was the impression I was given but for obviuos reason did not want to ask any further due to the circumstances and Dave has never got back to me about getting any from him which would suggest not (BTW - He was the supplier to Horizon for the Trickbits badged version which is why they have them no longer...)

I've just bought this Schumacher-branded 12v 40w iron, if that's any help, see http://demonpowerproducts.co.uk/prod...oducts_id=1758

The Schumacher one is not too hot (literally) when it comes to building cells etc, OK for small jobs but struggles anywhere that needs a fair bit of heat.

Andy, just buy one direct from Antex (the people who mkake the Tricbits one to start with)

The website is www.antex.co.uk

The iron to look at is this one http://www.antex.co.uk/product.asp?s...D=180&P_ID=825

It states 25W, but the guy at Antex we spoke to assures me it is the same internals as the old Trickbits one (35W - maybe "over-rated by Trickbits for marketing ;)") which when powered off of a Power Supply is more than adequate......

The Antex irons are good, but its the "bit" on the old trickbits that held the heat, not sure if Antex supply anything like it. there is a good chance the bit from your old iron will fit the Antex.

Antex supllied the irons and the bits, they do have the full selection of accessories on their site that are still in production
