losi xxx or B4
hi guys.
Im thinking of having a go at off road elec 2wd. I used to have a losi xxx years ago, i think the rc10 was the main competition in those days. But what would you go for now and why? losi xxx or B4. thanks in advance Si |
B4 with X6 conversion :D
Don't see quite so many XXX's these days :p |
why do you think the xxx's are'nt being used as much?
what is a X6 conversion? si |
Have a look at the Kyosho RB5 aswell dude.;)

Old age basically... it seems losi arent too interested in 1/10 off road racing anymore (i could be wrong)... The latest XXX, the XXX CR is a very good car, but just an evolution of the XXX.. The X-6 is the way to go, ive driven all 3 and hands down X-6 was my favourite, then the XXX CR, then the B4.. more down to preference i guess though... |
just typed x-6 in ebay and cant find anything. who makes it?
are the hex's the same on them all? si |
B4!!!!
Go for the B4 dude. I loved mine when I had it.
Then if you have the spare cash get the X Factory conversation. Probably the best 2wd car out there at the moment. Andy |
ah, found the x-6, its a conversion for the b4.
seems an exspensive way of doing things. is it really that much (£140)better with the x-6 conversion? do losi wheels fit the b4 and visa versa? si |

Can't comment on which to get as I've only had a B4, other than to say the B4 is so popular that setups and parts will be very easy to get hold of trackside. |
is this what i want?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TEAM-ASSOCIATE...1%7C240%3A1318 or will this need lots of bits to upgrade it? it says its been ball raced. does that means it wasnt originally? si |
Buying a car for the first time is a bit of a gamble. Ive run the b4 and the xxx-cr and IMO the cr is the easier car to drive. Both cars are quick out of the box it all depends on your driving style. After running the cr for a while and trying friends b4's it just seems so unstable. The cr seems to be the more stable car but it does understeer without a good bit of weight in the front.

But then everyone is biast towards there own car...

I think that 2 wd have reached a plateau and isn't very developing class right now exept for the mid motor conversions of course so cr i i still a good choice but any top level car is these days. Try wich one you like best.:D

From what I've seen there is very little in it between all of them, just down to personal preference. I'd say the Losi is a little more durable than the B4. There are however many more people runing B4s and X6's than Losis so they are easier for set up advice and spares availablilty. I would say the X-6 is good but ultimately no quicker than a B4 so why bother paying extra (and the bodyshell is ugly IMO!). If you want conformation of that go to any meeting where Neil Cragg is racing his B4.

(Not saying the B4 is slow by ANY means but....."most" people who have tried an X6 have gone a LOT quicker in most situations than they had previuosly, not all have, but most) |
in my own expierience the X6 hands down is more consistant and easier to drive on medium to high grip tracks than the B4 but the B4 is better to drive and quicker on low grip tracks, heck if your really handy with a B4 then I think it's quicker overall but it's harder to keep consistant!

The b4 must be getting old.:p:p Go X6 and Cr A |

Yeah, so he got lucky!:D...ok maybe not every meeting! My personal favourite is the CR too but you can't get around the fact that the X6 looks like a pig! ...and I know it's only indoor but I've yet to see anyone with an X6 who can stay with Cragg's B4 (and most of the 4wd field too!), and make it look easy! (go on someone prove me wrong again!) |
I know of a very nice b4 factory team for sale that has all the extras needed on it for sale!! pm me and i'll tell you more:D
