Deadzone in transmitter wheel normal?

I'm trying to learn how to drive a touring car properly and noticed a small deadzone in the steering. It is about 7-10 degrees, 14-20 degrees is a big deadzone to me, but I'm a total beginner. Does every transmitter have a small deadzone? I'm using a Flysky FS-GT3B.

Lower budget transmitters can seem a bit vague like you describe but check exponential or steering curve is not active this softens the feel around neutral point

I'm sure flysky gtb has this feature

Nope. I spent a frustrating 10 minutes trying to work out why my steering was fractionally out on my TC when trying to change toe/camber.
The steering wheel foam had slipped and was holding the wheel about half a mm off centre. So with the transmitter on and the car on the stand, it was cockeyed. Jiggling the transmitter fixed it, turning it slowly didn't.......

That's a Sanwa transmitter/reciever and a Ko Propo Servo. So the link from fingers to steering is about 500 quid....... i'm still a shit driver.
