cogging - help meee

i am running a mamba 25 with a c4 8000kv motor and the cogging off the line is unreal, how do i get rid of this, also what size shaft is the c4 motor, my std blaze pinion is off center:blush:

I don't know what diameter the motor shaft is but don't run it off centre, you'll probably strip the spur at least!
(I think the standard is 2.3mm so could be 2mm)

Once you have the right pinion that may help the cogging, do you have the link cable to connect it to a PC and download later firmware as that is meant to help too. I don't have one of these esc so can't help further I'm afraid, just don't run it til you have the right pinion.

these would be the usual steps..

Latest Firmware
use good quality connectors, and good soldering
don't use cheap cells
gear it right
set up the esc right

If you do all that, you may still get a little cogging, but most should be gone.

It's 2mm shaft, i have the same problem but with mamba motor (problems in the esc) I think it could be fixed by what peetbee and DCM said, try getting the mamba link and latest software of castles site. You can also improve throttle curve and brake curve which makes it drive better. :)

And the AE pinions should fit as they fit the mamba.

thanks peeple:D:D:):D

I think (not 100%!) cogging is normally caused by voltage drop from the current draw of the higher kv motors, try a slower motor or cells that can give more current/higher voltage :)
